Poppies

These are the girls from Liz's message board that came down to join us!!!!

The Burgh!!!!

Ok, Liz parked in a handicap spot (oops), the Allegheny river is frozen, and we have a SWEET view from out $79 hotel room (that we're splitting 4 ways!!!!! LOL!!!!). Liz's sunglasses will take over from here. since we lost Amy Giffins :(

...to Pittsburgh!

We finally arrived in Pittsburgh, home of the Steelers! We thought we were going to be spending the night in Minneapolis for a minute! Thanks for offering up your sister's house, just in case, Evie!!!!

Anywaysw, here's a Steelers (pronounced "stillers") football dude wearing Gina's scarf.

...to Minneapolis...

So, we landed in Minneapolis, our arrival and departure gates were about 15 miles apart, so we ran like crazy with out carry-ons in tow! We got to our gate, got on the plane (after almost being bumped for a $300 voucher... dang!!!!) and taxied to the runway. Then out pilot came on, announcing a mechanical error with the flaps, and we returned to the gate. Our Captain was funny! That's him in the cockpit wearing Amy Giffin's sunglasses. We hung out on the plane for two hours, then finally they sent us back in the airport. A bunch of us headed to the bar1 There's a group photo here of the passengers of flight 2840. There's also a photo of our bartender wearing Amy Giffin's sunglasses. And Barry wearing Amgy Giffin's sunglsses. And Bill... and Phill...

Seatac...

We boarded a plane bound for Atlanta, set to depart at 6:05 AM. They announced that there were mechanical issues, they couldn't be fixed until 6PM, so off the plane we went. After booking a flight to Minneapolis (that wasn't leaving til 9AM) we headed to the bar for a 7 AM Bloody Mary.

Amy Giffin's sunglasses were there, too.

Getting ready for Pennsylvania!!!!!!

So, here I am packing for the trip. I can't find my sorrels, and I know my feet will get cold when Liz and I are standing around on Gobblers Knob in 20 degree weather waiting for Punxsutawney Phil's Prognostication. So, I call my Dad to ask if they are in his front closet. "yes" he says. "I wore them last time it snowed". Hooray!!! So, I drove over there to pick them up... He had them sitting out for me. These are not my black sorrels, FYI, they are some early 80's moon boots. Somehow, though, this seems like it was meant to be. The retro 80's moon boots and a trek to Gobbler's Knob for Groundhog's Day. Like peas and carrots.
