Kevin's 34th Birthday!

Well, we celebrated Kevin's birthday at the People's Pub in Ballard on Wednesday, April 12th! It was a smashing success, which is more than I can say for the cupcakes I worked on all day :(

I dug out all my 80's rocker shirts, made a bunch of laminated coasters of 80's rocker album covers with Kevins photo in them, and someone brought a wig!

It was pretty funny.

The chocolate cake I BOUGHT at QFC was really good! And the balloons and plates and forks were just the right VT comors! I posted the photo of Kevin with long hair, as well as the one of him in the cowbot hat. All his friends showed up, including McKenzie! I think he was pretty happy.

However, I don't think either of us were happy the next day. Beware of mojitos at the Matador. OUCH!!!!!!!

I got to paddle with the Wailea Canoe Club. They have their boats across the street from Jeff and Sally's place.

Actually, I had fun and stood up right away! I'd like to try that again sometime when the waves are bigger!

Flat Blake

Flat Blake is a kid that got squished and put in an envelope. Poor kid. Good news is that he gets to travel around and have his picture taken!!! Here he is at Nakalele Point and boogie boarding at the beach. I added the snorkel. He'll be mailed back to Bellevue soon.

Nakalele Blowhole

We hiked a bit farther than we had to for this, but it was pretty cool. Especially if you start off in the correct parking lot. I actually stole this picture from the internet!! The sky was grey when we were there!

What are those people doing?!

Those aren't people, Kathy, they're cows. These cows were just trompin' through the grass on the side of the road when we were driving up the coast on Hiway 30.

Dragon's Teeth

This is at a place called Dragon's Teeth, where the lava flowed into the Ocean and splashed up in some parts, looking like a giant row of teeth! It was pretty awesome to watch the turquoise waves roll in and smash against the walls of lava rock!
